First time in the garden

Hi it's Chibi...

I just had to tell you about all the fun I had this weekend in the garden.

On Friday, I got a new hi-viz jacket and lead from my Mummy (it's a bit snug but its ok, I don't like playing in it much!). It had a horrible bell on the back that I just had to get rid of... it was driving me nuts. Daddy took pity on me in the end and cut it off as I kept trying to roll over and rub it off.

Mummy put my new jacket on and I will admit, I did look rather fetching in it...

What do you think??
On Saturday morning, Mummy and Daddy took me out in the garden as it was really nice and sunny outside. I've never been on grass before and was a bit unsure at first so I kept prodding it to see what it was... It's really squishy and tastes quite nice.

I ventured a bit further from the patio and once I'd gotten used to the grass, I couldn't stop myself running around.

Sorry Chibi but I want to add something....

I have never seen a cat run quite like him. Think Pony crossed with a Ferret!! (Mummy you're mean!)

Ok Chibi I've said my bit...

Granny and Granddad came over in the evening to see me and we had lots more fun running around the garden. I explored all the bushes and chased some bugs. I even found a few feathers in the grass! It was really fun hiding in the long grass (it was all long, it couldn't be cut because all of the naff weather we've had :( ) and jumping out at the grasshoppers (no one told him that white cats can't hide in green grass!)

I really liked all the flowers but they make me sneeze...

I really can't wait for my next trip into the garden. Hopefully we will have lots more nice weather so I can go out even more!

At the end of the evening, I was really tired so I cuddled up with Granny for some cuddles.

Now... I command to tickle my tummy!!
After all of the weekends excitement, I slept all night and didn't wake up for my breakfast until 9am! (I got a lovely lay in, makes a change from making get up at 5am on the weekends too!).

Now... Mummy's just put some dirty washing in the basket, so.... as her little helper (mmmm, not sure about that) it's my job to take it all out again!

Mission accomplished! =^.^=

Rest of the family

Today I thought it would be nice to introduce you to the other pets in our family (there are a fair few so I will split it up a bit). Besides Chibi, Chris and myself have 3 hamsters, Bo, Honeydew and Nibbler.

Before we moved into our house a few months ago, we lived in a flat for a few years and as we couldn't have cat I decided a hamster might be nice as I was desperate for a pet. Along came Bo (her full name is Bovine!)

As you can see, she looks like a baby cow with perfect cow print. We rescued her from the RSPCA about a year and a half ago. Chris had decided that he would quite like a cow print hamster (I didnt even think there was such a thing), so when we found Bo, we couldnt believe it. Me and Mum just looked at each and burst out laughing... She is so friendly and loves watching what you are doing. She always comes up to you in her cage to say hello whenever you get home from work.

This is Honeydew...

He was 8 weeks old  when we bought him home so he wasn't very small but he is so cute! Out of all the hamsters in his tank, he was the most active... He was climbing the walls!!! We named him Honeydew after a guy called Simon, who's Minecraft characters skin is a ginger bearded Dwarf (www.Youtube.com/Bluexephos - They make gaming videos and are hillarious!)

He isn't a very cuddly hamster, he's a bit nervous of people but once he's out in his ball, he will follow you everywhere. He is a bit of a lazy hamster, preferring to just eat and sleep... Oh and drink a lot of water and then wee everywhere. I've never known a hamster wee so much!!

Little Nibbler is the baby of the 3. We bought her the same day as Honeydew and she was 4 weeks old and very tiny. I've never seen baby hamsters before but she was the cutest little thing. I couldn't decide between her and Honeydew and ended up getting both.

This was Nibbler at about 5 weeks old

As you can probably guess, Nibbler is called Nibbler for a reason. The first thing Chris did when I put her in her new cage was to put his fingers through the bars. What do you expect a baby hamster in new surroundings to do?? Well, it wasn't to kiss him thats for sure. I have never seen someone bleed so much from a hamster bite. It was hell of a bite though and rather deep for such a little thing.

As she has gotten older, she has definately become more friendly and loves coming out of her cage. She doesn't like being held so much but loves running around in her ball too, usually getting herself stuck behind the sofa. She also likes playing Xbox!

Next time I will tell you all about the other family pets.... :)

Toy Tuesday

Good Afternoon...

After a week of my alarm yelling at me to get up at 5am, Chibi has now learnt what this sound means… time for breakfast! I usually put it on snooze for another 20 minutes to give myself time to actually wake up and not have to jump out of bed straight away. Chibi has other ideas though… like swotting me around the face, licking my nose and getting under the duvet and biting my feet! Not the best thing to receive at that time of the morning.

He is a perfect example of ‘Simon’s Cat’. Chibi has the exact same bedroom etiquette as him!

Today I thought I would tell you all about Chibi’s favourite toy….

His Armitage Good Girl Bat It! Cat Play Tunnel.

I bought this a few weeks before we bought Chibi home from Tanya’s for £3.50 from Tesco’s.  Like most of his ‘get the colour you’re given’ toys, its not the most manly-cat colour being red, I wanted the black and white one but never mind.

This is probably the one toy that Chibi will play on his own with and not get bored and yell at you to throw it or drag around the floor for him to chase. Chibi doesn’t really like playing on his own but this keeps him entertained for ages, which is quite helpful when you want to eat your tea and Chibi is begging for a snack!

His newest game with it is to drag it over to one of the chairs around the table in the living room, and pounce on top of it. The first time I saw him do this I burst out laughing (Chibi sometimes gets all excited at laughing and he went even more scatty!), he jumped on top of the tunnel, bounce about a foot in the air, then hit the floor with a thud. It was quite a heavy thud and I thought he would have at least sat still for a few seconds to compose himself and have a breather. But no…. he grabbed the ball attached to the tunnel and charged as fast as he could, dragging the tunnel behind him. Down the hallway he went, skidded round the corner into our bedroom and under the bed. Halfway under he got the tunnel stuck on the wooden bar that runs down the middle of our bed, and only Chibi came out the other side wondering where the hell the tunnel had gone.

This was one of those ‘I wish I had my phone’ moments as it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen Chibi do. I have met a few scatty cats in my time but nothing quite like him. If he was a child, you would think he had some hyperactivity problem. Well, he might, can cats have that??

He has grown so much in these last 2 weeks that he is nearly as big as my Mum’s 11 months old cat Ella. His tunnel is more for little kitten sized cats… not humungous bags of fluff like Chibi, so I think I might have to upgrade to a bigger one at some point as he is already hitting his head on the rim when he runs through it (he could just lower his head but obviously that’s not as much fun!).

This is supposed to be a cat but reminds me more of a hungry hippo!

Do you have any toys that your cat’s love, that you think Chibi might enjoy? If so let me know and I will let you know what he thought of them.

Until next time, here is a video of the furbaby playing with his tunnel that I took a few days ago.

Help a friend

My friend Matt is doing the London to Cambridge Bike Ride on the 22nd July for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Thats a lot of miles!!

Its enough that he is already doing it but a few months ago, he broke his hand and wrist needing a few operations to put things back into place and is still willing to to do this which is amazing.

If you would like to sponsor him, it would be greatly appreciated, you can do so through:

New stuffs

I will apologise now if this waffles a bit, it's quite late, Chibi is charging about and I'm starting to nod off but I want to write this before I forget to do it.

I have been looking for some extra bowls for Chibi's holder for a while now, but haven't been able to find any actually designed to fit in the Hing bowl holders.

Chibi has the green fish shaped holder which is absolutely great. It has non slip feet to stop him pushing it around the floor... he's a bit of an aggressive eater at times lol!

It had been while since I'd actually measured his current bowls (probably should have measured them again but I was at work and getting impatient), so order 2 medium sized metal ones from Ebay made by a company called Cleo, which were close to the figure I had in my head (knowing me, there was quite a high chance I would get it very wrong!).

This morning, I was snuggled in bed with Chibi after I'd gone back to bed after giving him his breakfast, when there was a knock at the front door. Chibi's fur was stood on end (the slightest noise that comes out of nowhere makes him jump...chicken!!) and ran off into the bathroom to hide. I got up and went to the door to find the postman. As I was up Chibi was a bit braver and stuck his head round the door. Chibi has decided he doesn't like him very much and all his fur went poofy again which made us giggle. Giggling makes Chibi excited, so he them started doing zoomies up and down the hallway whilst I signed for the package.

I was quite surprised the bowls had come so quickly so I was very excited as I'd bought Chibi some new toys as well. Chibi loves packages and climbs your legs to open them for you. On the floor the package went and Chibi started kicking the hell out of it and ripping the paper off. Chibi looked like Xmas had come as it was wrapped in bubble wrapped as well (Chibi is obsessed with bubble wrap, he runs around dragging it around behind him like a cape!). Once he'd opened it I took his breakfast bowls out and tried them out for size. I wasn't that far off my estimation as the bowls fit inside quite nicely. I think the Cleo large bowls might have been a perfect fit but I will have to measure up again and double check the sizes. The medium ones hardly move around at all so the messy eater shouldn't have any problem eating his food. The bowls were only cheap but they are very good quality, I will definitely buy some more, whether the larger size is a perfect size or not. They will definitely last a long time.

The part of the package he was more interested in (apart from the tissue paper that as between the bowls) were the toys I'd bought him. I bought him 3 boxes of catnip mice and a set of 3 animal toys. When I saw these, I couldn't resist, they were so cute and I knew he would like chasing them about. The mice came in cute cheese shaped boxes (Chibi loves pulling the mice out if you hide them inside, or put treats in it), and have catnip in them. Aren't they cute!!

Weeeeeeeeee!!!!! Angry birds springs to mind

Love the shredded paper on the floor!
The set of animals now live on Chibi's cat tree. I think his favourite is the mouse. He dragged it up and went crazy at the bell on it's tail.

They remind me a bit of the characters on that animated show called Creature Comforts, a bit derpy looking but totally adorable.  The bunny has a fluffy tail which Chibi spent a few minutes nibbling. Other than that, the bunny was a bit boring and he hasn't really played with it since. The bird and the rat have ribbon and bells on them, which drive Chibi nuts. If the bell rattles he comes charging in launching him in the air to grab it out of your hands.

As Chibi is quite rough with his toys I'm always worried he will pull them apart in no time at all. These are so well made that I don't think they will be falling apart any time soon. I will definitely be getting some more of the mice once these ones either go missing or Chibi has demolished them. I've had a quick look at their website (http://www.cleopet.co.uk/), and there are some really cute mouse scratchers which I might replace his cardboard ones with once he's killed them (great idea being recyclable but they make a lot of mess on the carpet).

As I'm writing this, Chibi is playing with one of the mice on my bed.

He started going hyper after I stopped recording so hopefully he will tire himself out soon and go to sleep. Knowing him, he will probably wait until very early tomorrow morning when Chris gets home from work!

I’ejrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsopgqw3w3w3w3w3w3w3w3w3w39avvv vg-ttttttttttttttttttttytttttttttttttttttt

…oops

Hi my names Chibi and whilst my mummy is asleep, I thought that I would say hello after the heated black cat seat that my mummy looks at came on. She was going to tell you what we’ve been up to but she flopped and is having a cat nap. Silly mummy.

I like my new seat; it’s warm and has fun little buttons on it that make noise when I jump on them. It’s right next to mummy’s head and when I want to play, and mummy doesn’t wake up when I poke her with my paws, I pounce on my seat and the shiny black back rest lights up in mummy’s face. When mummy goes to make it black again, I pounce on her hand and then she plays with me.

It’s been 2 weeks since I came to live with my new mummy and daddy and I’m having so much fun. I get to sleep all day, eat out of a giant green fish (last night it tasted of chicken!?!), and I have lots of toys to play with all to myself. I do miss all my buddies sometimes but I know they have probably having just as much fun as me.

Cat nap

The waldrobe is a great hiding place

Roar!! My dinosaur impression
Whilst on my explorations, I have discovered some other house mates. Mummy calls them Hamsters, not sure what they are but they look funny and every time I try to introduce myself, I get stopped by some sort of wall. There is a big fat ginger one that doesn’t really do much, he just sits there and stares at me a lot. There is another one high in the air that I can only see when it walks up the walls of its house. It’s little and seems friendly. I will have to wait until I’m a bit bigger before I can make proper introductions. The best one though is a big friendly one called Bo. She sniffs me a lot and likes to run through tunnels. I don’t like it when she spits her food out, it’s a bit gross!! Bo is a bit weird though, she likes to follow me around in her ball when I’m on patrol. It makes me jump when she runs into me.

I had a great surprise last week. My friends Tanya and Derek came to see me. I was a bit sleepy at first but Tanya had my favourite shoes on so I had to get them back. I was so happy to see them that after they left I ran around singing. I tripped up mummy a few times which she wasn’t happy about but she was in my way. It’s not my fault… I shouted kitten coming through but she didn’t move fast enough. It was funny.

This week I haven’t seen mummy that much as she goes out in the morning after I’ve had my breakfast. It’s been ok though as I’ve had daddy to cuddle with instead. When he wakes up, he gives me my dinner and then we play lots of games. My favourite game to play with him is chasing string. Daddy is a bit mean though…he moves it too fast so I can’t catch it. One day I will catch it. I will wait until he’s not looking and jump out from behind the sofa. When mummy comes home, I lay on my back and meow (the chicks can’t resist it ;)) and she comes and tickles my tummy, then picks me up for a cuddle. I like it when she tickles my nose. Sometimes, I like to play tricks on her. I lay on my back on her lap and pretend to be asleep. When she puts her face close to mine, I jump up and lick her nose hehehee!!

Today, I got the bestest present ever!!!! It’s a huge tower which has seats and toys on it! I couldn’t wait for mummy to finish making it and I kept climbing all over it. She kept taking me off it so I played in the box it came in instead. Mummy was using these big grey things and they kept trying to escape, so I chased after them and rounded them all up again. I had to kill them up so they wouldn’t escape again. Mummy said I should have been a sheep dog.

My new tower has evil mice living on it too. They make lots of noise so I tell them to shut up. They usually ignore me so I beat them up. I’ve managed to get 2 of them to be quiet but they still hang about so I give them a quick slap to keep them in line.

I’m a bit sleepy now so I’m going to curl up under the duvet with mummy and have a cat nap until daddy gets home later and show him how I shut the evil mice up.   =^-^=

The little purr machine

On Saturday, we went to pick Chibi up from Tanya's house. All the kittens were very hyper and charging around chasing each other (Jasper and Terra even got a paper tube stuck on their heads!). Tanya went through all the paper work and we had a great long chat about Crafting (me and mum are big crafters) whilst me and Mum had a look at the new kitten that was born 3 weeks ago (my god that kitten is a monster!!)

After a few hours it was time for us to take Chibi home. Now, it's only a 20 minute car ride from Tanya's house to ours, but Chibi didn't like being shut in his carrier or the car ride at all. He cried the whole time poor thing. Once we got to my house, I put his carrier in the kitten so he could see his litter tray and food/water bowls, but all he wanted to do was explore. We had a lovely play in the living room where he discovered carpet. I don't think he's had much of an experience with carpet as he like to sit and trot with his front legs, burying his claws into the pile. Saying that, he seems to do that no matter where he is. He's even done it on the lino in the kitchen whilst eating his food.

He has been calling a lot so the first night we let him sleep on our bed. He takes up half of our bed now, so once he's fully grown, I think we might need a bigger one! He does just curl up, he spreads out as far as he can reach and as soon as you make the slightest movement, he pounces on your feet.

This video was taken about half hour after we opened his carrier.

Here's a few pictures from the last few days.

Sound asleep

Looking at these pictures you would think he quite relaxed and lazy...

I have a few more videos which show just how loopy he is, so once I have downloaded them, I will post them up on here.

Enjoy xx
